@AlanGMarz @gaby I’m having the same debate with myself about having all my writing on Micro.blog, or separating out long form writing on Blot and using M.b to its strengths. My thought pattern is to silo off my “professional” writing as an aspiring author from journal posts.

@pimoore @gaby Completely intrigued to see how folk are mixing microblogging + blogging + newsletter. Thanks for sharing. I do wonder @alangmarz if I will be spread over thin - but not sure I can help myself!

@pimoore I think your option could be smart plan - I’m drifting towards something similar. Key seems to be to know clearly what each platform is for... at least for me it is.

@Gaby I'm sticking with my plan: Micro.blog for everything except link sharing, with HEY World. And that ends up over here as well. Blot is a nice place to keep a separate photoblog, the posting workflow is unbeatable. I believe my popup project will be done by the end of this month, and that's it for now.

@Gaby FWIW I think one website is the best approach. There are lots of different services which are fun to set up and use, but I think it just diffuses your writing. At the end of the day, people are just going to read some words on a screen.

@AlanGMarz I’m very happy with Wordpress for my longform but I’ve only just discovered Blot. I suspect I need to concentrate on writing rather than getting side tracked with the allure of the new. Definitely going to do some flirting with it though 😀

@Gaby Chalk me up as someone else who is also debating this. At the moment I’ve got a Blot.im site that I post technology related stuff, and everything else goes to M.b. There’s also a Hugo site where I post long form technology topics but I’m wondering whether to retire that one.

@numericcitizen Ooh! Thank you - that’s exactly the kind of thing I wanted to read. I do get a lot of pleasure from using different platforms and it’s incredibly helpful to see how others are combining them.

@Gaby There are definitely so many intriguing blogging platforms, but I also feel like the more consolidated I have things, the better 😅 It can be hard to resist though, so I feel you…

@euanlawson So you got a chance to read about my blogger workflow?

@numericcitizen I did thanks. Spent the weekend building up a Blot site but the underlying approach was inspired by your diagram. Worked out my areas and matching them to the best platform.
