Me: it’d sure be nice if Simple, my online bank, improved their bill-paying service to accept ebills. Simple: Great news! We’re terminating our bill-paying service! Me: You know, I still have a Bank of America account…

@chipotle isn't Simple owned by some brick-and-mortar bank now? Totally deferring to the mothership for featureset?
@chipotle That is really weird. Do they want users to only use EFT to pay, say, credit card bills and such, or are they pivoting to savings accounts only?
@nitinkhanna they still have their own features, but it's hard to imagine that BBVA Compass, their parent, doesn't have bill pay. I should probably poke around and see, though.
@mjdescy still checking, but they're basically telling us to set up any automatic payments as EFTs with the payee and no longer letting us pay via automatically mailed paper check (which I do monthly for rent!).
@chipotle I mean, that's just a basic service!
Recently, Chase took away price protection weeks after I got their credit card. It's sad, because that was one of the things I was really looking forward to using. But I've never had it before, so I guess I can live without it...
