Okay #MechanicalKeyboard experts:
I want to replace my Cherry blue switches with something quieter but with good feedback. What should I get?
I love the clicky keyboard, but my office is too close to my spouse's for me to use it.

@aleen Maybe Kailh Box White v2? (I'd look into Kailh in general over going with Cherry MX again. Kailh has so many good modern switches.
Could always pick up one of these to really explore:

@r0k I have an inordinate amount of love for switch samples! Thanks for the link.
@aleen My favorites are box purple, but they don't have quite the actuation force of the blues
@aleen I started off loving clicky switches. But my current favorite are Durock T1 switches. They are tactical switches so you still get the feel but they aren’t super load.
@aleen I think you described brown switches. Tactile feedback, still clicky, but quieter than blues.
@aleen Boba U4 Silent or Akko Penguin Silent Tactile as a budget alternative.
@aleen you can go to Tactiles (blues are tactiles w/ a noise mechanism to give audible feedback) and if that is too loud, Silent Tactiles (Tactiles with a muffler).
Tactiles: Glorious Pandas (available off the shelf), Gazzew Boba U4T
Silent Tactile: Gazzew Boba U4
@aleen box white are still too noisy though (they are still clickies but lighter weight)
@aleen the durock shrimp switches are very silent. You’ll need to silence/lube your stabilizers too to make it suitable for office use.
@aleen
I can suggest an alternate solution: keep Cherry Blues and change spousr... 😉
Seriously. I also moved from Cherry Blues to Gateron Bkues and now Kailh White Box: a bit quieter but still clicky. You should try some switch tester, probably.

And remember to test them with keycaps on!
@aleen I like Keychron's Mint switches. They are tactile rather than clicky, but pretty stiff with a good bump. https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k-pro-switch?variant=40299927306329
@aleen Boba U4 for truly silent. Boba U4t for not silent, but quieter than clicks.
