Why does the emacs on my 5 year old Macbook Pro does feel so much slower than on my 10 year old Thinkpad? 🤔️

@nielsk Are you using the standard GNU version? If so, there are Mac-optimized versions like Mitsuharu Yamamoto’s emacs-Mac port, or Doom Emacs which is also lightning fast on my work machine.

@nielsk Wow, that’s weird it’s slow then. I’ve always found Doom to be magically fast with whatever the dev is doing to optimize everything. Prelude eMacs was another one I tried that was also very fast and lightweight, maybe give that a try if it has the features you need.
