@grayareas I really tried to read it but this guy needs an editor to remove that nasty build-up of gas. Roger Ebert obviously wasn't perfect but it's a shame this bloviating mess is attached to his name.
@simonwoods And, honestly, it can be just as bad in the book world. I have many writer friends who have bemoaned the scarcity of even good copy editing these days, let alone an editor who helps them make their piece better.
@grayareas Heh. Copy editing is a thing I am trying to do. The main thing that I have yet to research is how you go from not doing to actually doing it, though I guess with freelance work in general it's mostly a case of doing as much writing and editing as possible -- got my own project for that -- and then finding places to shout about it.
@grayareas Yep! This is why I'm planning to get into university next year. As has seemingly always been the way, it is essential to have contingencies for work. Still, it could be worse!
