@herself The Chain are so amazing. I saw "them” in Chicago around the turn of the century and one of the Reid brothers had walked off the tour a few days before. It was awful, but in a fun way. They kept starting songs and stopping after a verse. Someone yelled “you suck" and whichever of the Reid's was there said “I suck? You paid 30 bucks to watch this crap”. Sure, I would have rather seen them when everything was running smoothly, but it was as memorable a night as I've ever had at a show.
I hope you go and have a great time!
@chris hah!! That’s hilarious. Probably on par with an Evan Dando gig we went to a few years ago. Someone in the crowd eventually caved, and shouted out “quit fucking around!!” Hehe.
@herself An ex-girlfriend of mine saw J&MC two or three years ago, I think, and said they were great. She also said she couldn't hear very well for a couple of days after. 😄 🎵
@grayareas hehe! Perfect! (Though I will admit my husband and I got a set each of those in-ear earplugs for gigs. Got them prior to seeing the Cure (which we assumed would blast our eardrums into the stratosphere) a few years ago and they were surprisingly good!)
@herself I always wear earplugs to shows now. I went to see Dinosaur Jr. at a small club here in my town a few months ago, and it was insanely loud—my ears would have been ringing for days had I had the earplugs.
