Where Will Pipes Be In 100 Years?
Great article on the benefits and blessings of pipes, the pipe smoking community, and what that could look like in a couple generation. Wish there was a pipe emoji!

@nathanrhale I know they’re bad for you, just like cigarettes are, but it doesn’t seem like there is many stigmata around them. Not sure why.
@cambridgeport90 They’re really not on the same level as cigarettes. Most pipe smokers smoke in moderation and don’t inhale. Check out the article for some more info.
@nathanrhale I’m sure pipes are victims of the backlash against the rudeness of cigarette smokers. Had to stop smoking them long ago, when they started putting anti-fungal agents in the tobacco.
@JoeHoffman I think you Lee on to something. Bummer about having stop pipes altogether, how do you know if those anti-fungal additives are present?
@nathanrhale i’ve never done it, so I guess I can’t seem to comprehend how smoking without inhaling woodwork. LOL
@nathanrhale I think it could have to do with twhere you are getting your tobacco from?
@cambridgeport90 ah I see. Most premium pipe tobacco companies make a big deal about not having lots of additives beyond flavorings. I’m the exact opposite of you when it comes to inhaling the smoke...I can’t imagine doing it since the few times I have on accident it has been so unpleasant.
@nathanrhale having a bowl of Presbyterian Mixture right now. Didn't know the pipe community was on micro.blog. Hi there!
@nathanrhale interesting. I’ve always enjoyed the scent of it. Maybe the next person I run into, I’ll ask to take a stab at it. LOL
@tmo Nice! Glad to know another pipe smoker on M. B. I have not yet tried Presbyterian but I’m looking forward to it.
@nathanrhale You should definitely try Presbyterian. The Nicotine Theolofical Journal might be a good place to start.
