@nathanrhale My biggest gripe has to be the awful keyboard on the MacBook Pro. But I do love the Mac OS and the underlying design philosophy of Apple products, so I guess I’m stuck.

@fardles I get that, and respect it! Over the past 6 years of owning iPhones I have grown to really appreciate the design and though that goes into iOS. I have never owned a Mac, not because I haven't wanted to, but because I haven't been able to afford one when I've needed new computers. After a lot of reflection, I'm not sure the value proposition is compelling enough for me personally to shell out the cash at a future point, even if I could. But I totally get why it makes sense for others!

@nathanrhale One of my perennial temptations is to just buy the top-of-the-line gadgets every time, so I find your realism and clear-headedness admirable. We can’t forget that these are but tools, and not ends in themselves, as difficult as that is to maintain in the face of marketing and hype. Thanks for the reminder.

@fardles And I should say...I too am constantly tempted by the siren song of new tech!! Nothing wrong with appreciating great form and function of course, but it’s easy for me let new and shiny things distort my priorities and decision making process sometimes.
