I feel like I really know a few people on here. I’d like to change that.

Let me offer the first introduction:

I’m Sam from RVA. I use male pronouns. I have a wife and two daughters (11 and 8). My day job is in anesthesia software. I podcast and write for a magazine sometimes.

@cn Not quite yet. Humans are too weird. Right now we’re getting into hyper-accurate measurement of how much of a drug a patient gets and computer-based infusion administration. Still all highly human-decision based.

@zsbenke Everyone’s different, but in my cisgender man/woman marriage we’ve had to be very deliberate about who does what parts of the emotional labor of the household. It’s far too easy to fall into “traditional” gender roles if you aren’t thinking on it intentionally.

@mrbeefy I'm currently enjoying Micro.blog and looking around for services to setup and run my own blog. Nothing fancy just a static site that I can update easily. I use Postach.io right now and serve it out of an Evernote notebook which works okay. As for hardware, I'm a little behind because the newest toys I have are a refurbished Chromebook and a Fitbit Aria scale (which I still have to setup today).

@mrbeefy hi Sam! 👋, i'm isaiah.

you might remember me from ADN. i make Mac software that helps regular people make nice websites. and sometimes build clients for failed social networks. i'm a northern californian who's (enjoying exile in austin)[https://torchystacos.com] for a few years. i don't have any pronoun preferences, and you can spell and pronounce my name any way that you like -- it's a toughie -- so creativity is encouraged. my shift key isn't broken, i just like the way lowercase letters look.

@isaiah Good to hear from you Isaiah. I’ll admit that when spelling your name I’ll often throw vowels in there in random order until it looks mostly right.

@mrbeefy my name is misspelled on my birth certificate, i had a high school teacher call me Elijah for a solid year, and there are dozens of correct spellings in various locales, and i really enjoy hearing all the different pronunciations. did a few extra vowels never hurt anyone? 😉

but Felix was Bill Kunz (TigerBears Software) -- I made Kiwi and Favd.
