@coachtony @medium Hi Tony and folks at Medium, I’m Jatan Mehta from India. I’m considering moving my professional space blog & newsletter from Substack to Medium as a publication. My email list is 6,000+, and unlike Ghost or Buttondown’s prohibitively expensive pricing, Medium’s $5/month pricing is ultra-reasonable. Want to move if Medium offers or plans to offer three important features for me:

  1. Ability to turn off Medium’s follow on my publication (only email & RSS subscribers please for full ownership of my relationship with my audience)
  2. Search per category, not just the whole publication
  3. Ability to create static pages I can link to in the Nav Menu

Could you please help answer these? Thank you.

@coachtony Ah. Bummed about the first one but good to know about the other two. Can Medium import a Substack post archive?

@coachtony Sorry, but that’s a no go. Thanks for answering though, I appreciate it. I’ll reconsider Medium in the future when a full import is possible.

On the Medium follows thing, wondering if followers can be made portable with ActivityPub? I see you already nicely support Mastodon and the Fediverse with a dedicated instance for members.
