Write.as has thrown its hat back in the ring by re-offering free accounts. I’ve always been curious about it and briefly used it for my LinkingPark blog. It’s federated too.

@pratik tempted especially with WordPress and all this Matt Mullenweg bs. But I think I’ll stick here for now.
@PhillyCodeHound If you're looking for a change, give it a shit. They also have a 14-day free trial for the Pro version.
@pratik It’s good to have this option again. Although I think Pika’s free plan is much better.
P.S. On your hosted blog for this post, the link to the Write.as announcement is not visible.
@moonmehta Agree. We're now spoiled for choices for easy-to-setup blogging services.
By the way, I see the links in that post. The dark mode shouldn't change things, right?
@moonmehta is Pika's free plan much better? A limit of 50 posts means that it's simply unusable as free. It's just a free trial up to 50 posts.
@fabio It’s better IMO because of other features it has, such as being able to add images which Write.as doesn’t offer on the free plan. Also, I consider it as 50 free longform posts, which might work for some cases. You can even have multiple blogs if separating by theme.
@pratik In the dark mode, the link color seems the same as the text color: moonmehta.micro.blog/uploads/2024/screenshot-2024-10-20-at-8.04.21pm.jpg
@moonmehta Yup. Just checked. I’ll change that (wondering what color it should be) especially since I don’t underline my links.
