What does an authentic self actually mean? Are we all not something different to different groups and different people in our lives?

@kitt The idea seems to assume an eternally static self, not a learning, growing one, doesn’t it?

That said, I suppose that just because different groups see me differently doesn’t mean they’re all correct.

@mjkaul your last part seems key. Being authentic to one's self, by having the inside and outside harmonious. Which means letting others possibly be wrong, as happens.
