@pcora I currently have accounts on Micro.blog, Mastodon, and BlueSky, but I don't have their apps on my home screen. Since I only have one screen on my phone, I have to browse the App Library whenever I want to use them, and most of the time, I don't even bother.

On my work computer, I don't have anything personal (other than MarsEdit and a feed reader in case I want to publish or read something on a break).

On my iPad mini (which I bought specifically for reading), I have iBooks, Kindle, Reeder, and GoodLinks. However, I ended up installing iA Writer, Drafts, and Day One for writing with an external keyboard.

I rarely use my personal computer — maybe once a week or so. But when I do, I have access to everything. Still, I barely use it.

The time I check Micro.blog, Mastodon, and BlueSky is at night when everyone is already asleep, and I'm in bed texting family and friends (which I also do at night) and solving word-puzzle games.

Oh, and because I mostly browse Micro.blog, Mastodon, and BlueSky without interacting, Project Tapestry is helping a lot.

@pcora ah yeah, basically I read via RSS and then try to find the post on M.b to leave a comment ;-)

@pcora This is how I have been using micro.blog, more or less. I do dedicate a 30 or so minutes each week to go through replies, as peeking into the mentions can lead to interesting new accounts to follow (mostly via RSS + micro.blog, sometimes micro.blog only).

@pcora I find reading little snippets of people’s lives. By itself, each post may seem mundane but together gradually we get increasingly private glimpses in their lives and often we know some better than we may know IRL people. That’s what I love about personal blogging (on Micro.blog at least).
