This is not a linkblog. But here are some links that, if it were, I would have posted today:

Happy Thursday, etc.

@miljko "Not everything in the world is a problem, and to see the world as a series of problems is to limit the potential of both world and self. What problem does a song address? What problem will reading Voltaire help you solve, in any predictable way? The “problem” approach—the “engagement” approach, the save-the-world approach—leaves out, finally, what I’d call learning." Thanks for the links.

@miljko Bitter sweet end to Basbøll’s blogging. It was an incredible ride. I have been an avid reader since his first blog, Research as a Second Language, that I discovered sometime between 2011 and 2013—so long ago I cannot actually recall.

@JohnBrady That is a most excellent quote. I had a everything-is-a-problem world view until quite recently. It makes perfect sense until you hit reality (and reality hits back).

@lukemperez Indeed. I look forward to reading his book, which I suspect may be the reason for the break. For the same reason, I hope the break is not permanent.
