@ChrisJWilson Seems like churning on note taking is a frequent theme around here. Which is fine and I enjoy learning how other people work, but I hardly ever see Bear mentioned as an option. I use an love Bear, am I missing some horrible downside?
@mcg I would like an app that I can add notes on my work issues PC. Bear is apple only. I know I mentioned that in passing at the end with DEVONthink rather than upfront. Does Bear have good options for importing notes from web article (I've never even tried bear as I felt like it was a half note taking, half markdown app and I'd rather have a markdown or a note taking app).
@ChrisJWilson It's has a web importer that is very good, on par with Evernote's, last I used that one. I guess I see note taking in markdown as being a plus that Bear does well. Hopefully the web app they've been working on makes it out.
@mcg I think what I meant was that it feels like something inbetween a writing app and a note taking app. Ironically, I'd say this about drafts which I absolutely love for taking notes, but I always want to send the data out of there. Perhaps that actually provides a key insight in my thoughts and prefernces, I want something which helps organise and find the notes well. Although if you have good search, like ulysses or probably bear, then who needs these fancy interlinking... Actually does bear have that too? I'm now worried that bear MIGHT be a great app for me, if it wasn't for the PC issue.
@ChrisJWilson Yeah, Bear supports note linking. I am a heavy Drafts user as well but I don't keep notes in it, just a capture space, to be sent elsewhere.
@cm @chrisJWilson @mcg I think I'm going to wait for bidreictional linking to come to DevonThink.
@cm I’m late to this but have used Bear for a long time. It’s capable enough, though I’m using notes for work since IOS 14 beta to play with it.
