Every time I see a screenshot of these security pop-ups from Catalina, I feel my desire to buy a Mac lessen.

This is the same as Windows; with this kind of thing happening there is no significant difference.

At this point I’m better keeping my iOS + Windows combination.

@simonwoods Have used Catalina for a while. The hype/worry around the permission popups feels overblown. They are almost completely a nonissue

@mcg I can second that. It’s nothing.

@mcg I hope that's the case.

For me, the computers need to work well enough that it's relatively easy for me to spend less time with them. Specifically with regard to settings, maintenance, etc. Right now my Windows computer gets in my way and demands my energy for things that I should not have to bother with, like with every other computer I have owned.

@simonwoods I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Apple sees the light and it’ll be safe to upgrade to macOS 10.18 Emerald Triangle. 🙏

@simonwoods @mcg @sarcassem As a full-time user of a Mac that runs whatever the latest OS update is, I almost asked “what security pop-ups?”. Clearly they are so infrequent for me that I'm almost unaware of them…
