@aeryn @amerpie My issue with Omnivore (and Instapaper, Matter, Pocket) is there is no way to add manual entries. For example, if I wanted to add a quote/highlight I heard at a conference or in a conversation. I would love an app that could pull out highlights from those services but also enable manual entry.

The closest app I’ve found is Readwise (NOT Readwise Reader, different app). It pulls highlights from many sources and allows manual entry. BUT it’s built around memorization, reviewing, etc. I just want a simple place to story and organize them.

@Mtt what about just rolling your own with a notes app?

@rscottjones I currently have a folder in a notes app, but as it gets bigger organization and structure kind of falls down. However, it’s probably the right direction considering the options. I’m considering using Bear (or something) as a notes app dedicated to the purpose. Just wish it had Kobo auto sync like Readwise does.

@Mtt I use Thoughts Inspiration Manager on iOS/iPadOS to keep a quotes collection that has over 500 entries. Typically, I collect the entries in Drafts until they start to mount up and then I spend awhile moving them over to Thoughts where I can tag them. There is no Mac app, so that might be a show stopper for you.
