When posting a link from my blog to a social media account (like Facebook, Twitter, etc), is there a way to have it show the picture associated with the article instead of my blogs logo?

@greghiggins That always feels like a crap shoot to me, but, when I have a photo at the top of a post, that always seems to get through as my hero image. I wouldn't mind being able to assign an image to a post like you can do on Ghost or Squarespace.

@greghiggins the problem is that, for the post in question, you need to include a “og:image” meta tag in your site’s meta data, placed in the head. So for each post, you need to add it…

I’m unsure if these platform could automatically pick up an image from the post though - I don’t think so.

@greghiggins maybe @sod could help with some sort of Hugo code that could potentially pick up the first image in the post and, if so, adds it to your meta data as an og:image.

@vincent @greghiggins @sod Possibly this, github.com/thatguygr... which is in the MB plugins directory.

@greghiggins I had this issue as well. What worked on Facebook was writing a longer article and using a title. Shorter posts just rendered my photo and blog’s title.

@mcg @greghiggins @vincent @skoobz Yep, use that plug-in or a theme with built-in support for Open Graph, like Tiny Theme by @mtt.

@vincent @sod @skoobz @mcg @chrisfoley Thank you guys. This was driving me crazy and I had zero clue how to fix it. I knew I could find some help here!
