Subs Game: gabz.micro.blog
@Gaby My only beefs with the Apple Weather app is the radar and its notification system. Is there anything you’re using you like better for those things?
@skoobz @Gaby Considered dropping Carrot for the stock weather app as well, but the lack of severe weather alerting is a deal breaker. Carrot has been solid for this and I think worth the sub for just this feature.
@skoobz nothing at all, Carrot is what I was using. I never used the radar much and the notifications so far have been spot on. So, so far, weather.app is what I have been using
@Gaby Maybe that highlights the difference between Midwest weather and Boise? There’s times we have to be on our toes out here and the level of data Carrot provides is great. A couple weeks ago we had a severe storm that produced 80 mph winds and some tornadoes locally. I didn’t receive a single audible push notification from Weather.app, while Carrot kept me in the loop. There’s free options available like Weather Channel or Accuweather, but those apps collect data which I don’t like.
@skoobz That’s another thing to concider, I mean, Boise’s weather can be a little ‘bipolar’ sometimes too but no tornadoes here. Here is more about wind gusts and staggening air… rain i dont even bother, heat waves…
