@mattbirchler so, OF forced a task to be into a project. Do you just use misc. projects?

Do you use defer dates?

@adrianizq I never use deferred dates and I’m not familiar with fixed projects 😬

@mattbirchler wow. Surprising since defer dates are one of the major features of OF

@adrianizq I guess I've just never seen the value in them. I set tasks to be done on certain days and I don't see them until those days, so eh. If they could make my life easier I'm all for it, though!

@mattbirchler @adrianizq I don’t use deferred days/tasks either. My OF setup its pretty simple as well, just a few perspectives and takes with a due dat and the ones without they go usually in the inbox. I do use location based tags tho, that probably my favorite feature.

@mattbirchler if you are working primarily out of forecast view that makes sense. Otherwise, how do you not see the upcoming tasks?

@adrianizq I use forecast view a lot, as well as a couple custom perspectives that filter things so I never see stuff I don’t need yet.

@mattbirchler I guess my biggest use is for tasks that I need to start working on, but aren’t due till a later date.

@adrianizq Ah, that makes sense. It comes down to how you make tasks, then. For me, any task that take more than one sitting to do needs to be broken into smaller chunks.

It’s always interesting to hear how people use the same tools different ways 😀
