🎥 Watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

The comic “Bluntman and Chronic” is based on real-life stoners Jay and Silent Bob, so when they get no profit from a big-screen adaptation, they set out to wreck the movie.

@matpacker I am a fan of this movie. They were ahead of their time when it comes to dealing with trolls.

@macgenie @matpacker Yup, that's how you deal with trolls.

I was just discussing Kevin Smith with a colleague the other day. I am a big fan but the last thing of his that I watched is "Zack & Miri Make a Porno," which I found disappointing. Last thing of his that I really enjoyed was "Clerks 2." Looking forward to the new "Jay & Silent Bob" movie.

I wonder if he can go back to his roots somehow, or if those early movies are too closely tied with GenX in their 20s? He's not a 20-something GenX slacker anymore, and it's not the 90s, but he's still Kevin Smith and we're still us.

@MitchWagner I enjoy his over-long, rambling movie reviews on YouTube. His enthusiasm is so infectious.

@Cheri Yeah. In the geek vs. hipster paradigm, he's definitely on the geek side, which makes him great.

@macgenie haha true, unfortunately, their technique doesn’t scale very well! 😂

@matpacker Don't tell Jay and Silent Bob that.

@MitchWagner Clerks 2 was quite good, I loved Red State, it was an excellent movie! Tusk was interesting, Yoga Hosers was just the worst...

@macgenie if they got the right VC, they might have half a chance, though I’d imagine there would be a fair amount of wastage on weed...I can’t imagine them on edibles, or vaping

@matpacker Clearly I need to catch up.
