@vincent I want to say Things, but I'm pretty sure that Vincent's correct. I would have to stick with Messages as well.
@ChrisJWilson I'd pick Safari, because even without any other apps installed, a Web browser on an iPhone could still be used to replicate and access services to write, record things and contact significant others.
@martinfeld @ChrisJWilson I was thinking Messages at first, but now I agree with Martin. Everyone I need to contact has an email address, and we have webmail.
@odd Yeah, a world of pure reliance on Web services wouldn't be ideal, but if pressed, a browser could just do everything. With the right services too (like Micro.blog), openness could be maintained! 🙂
@odd @martinfeld @vincent @KyleEssary A web browser does feel a bit like cheating to me although I suppose it's not. Maybe I'm more interested in an answer which doesn't allow you to have everything :P A web browser would probably be the smartest choice though as you could probably find a web app for every function you needed.
@ChrisJWilson I just switched to Drafts for everything (from Obsidian and Craft). Working on a post now! 😄 Drafts is such an amazing app.
@endonend agree … but for one app .. like @martinfeld… safari … or maybe arc? And have @Agiletortoise extend drafts so I can access it through the browser.
@endonend please ping me when it’s done incase I miss it otherwise. I’m not a microblog completionist and often miss late night posts.
@ChrisJWilson see comment just now .. if you are banning safari as a choice .. drafts … since with only one app I won’t need 1Password .. which gets installed first on any new device … drafts is definitely the most flexible one stop shop
@ChrisJWilson No worries! If I were banned from using Safari, then it would have to be Messages. This may sound strange but Phone is a close second; it’s often so much quicker and easier just to call somebody.
@martinfeld @ChrisJWilson I'm with you, Martin. Since I returned to thinking of my phone as a phone I have been much happier overall.
@ChrisJWilson Is phone/text an app or part of the phone? All I really want from my phone is that it phone and text.
@letters Wow, it looks as if feature creep has hit the LightPhone. I had one for a while, liked it very much. I think an alarm was the only non-phone app that it had when I first got it. Happily, I think its technology will keep it from metastasizing into a tiny smartphone.
