Debugging Shortcuts is a pain.. 😔
I would be absolutely shocked if more than 1% of total iOS users are using shortcuts regularly.
I suppose if a “Siri suggested” one surfaces, the average user may give it a go..

@Burk I use it to go to a few folders in the Files app and to jump to two cards in Wallet… that's it. I understand the power of automation but am reluctant to enter a world of maintaining workflows that are supposed to save time. (That's how I view it, anyway.)
@Burk I agree. Though I use it multiple times a day. But it’s been a long time since I created a new one (my needs have not changed)
@Burk I just wish Shortcuts on iOS ran faster and didn't need me around to answer permission questions. I've got a shortcut which adds a link to Pinboard, and every single time I run it, it asks for permission to get content from the website (the particular step is one offered by Safari to get the website title). It then takes 5 seconds to finish for some reason, which I think is too slow for making a web request.
@martinfeld @burk I inevitably forget that I have the shortcut, or forget exactly how to use it and in what situation. Maintenance is a pain. And the lack of structured management of them in the app is a nuisance.
@canion Yes, the list gets long quickly and I eventually lose interest scrolling through them. To me, the joy of using the phone is swiping, scrolling and tapping—not having it do stuff for me.
@mcg Probably, good point! I should have a look. I don't have a thing against Shortcuts and I'm happy to use it; it's more the irony of having to spend more time configuring things to achieve convenience that amuses me.
@Burk I’m old school, I just open the app I need, I know where it is, or swipe to the app library and start typing. Tried Shortcuts often and the never took.
I rarely use Siri as I’m usually somewhere I don't want to tell everyone what I’m doing.
@Burk So many of my shortcuts have needed fixes after a major iOS update, and finding out what needs fixing is such a pain.
