Update: I have figured out the very limit of my toaster’s toasting capability, so that I can get it as close to burnt as possible without actually being burnt. Super-crispy + Vegemite = joy ☺️

@martinfeld wow, vegitmite looks so different to marmite when spread. And congratulations, I’m sure it’s the ideal way to eat vegimite. I’m always amazed at how much better marmite is on toast compared to bread.
@ChrisJWilson Oh yes! Toast is superior!
The amount of Vegemite that I have is a bit extreme for some...
@martinfeld @ChrisJWilson these seem to taste nice. Not sure about cheese on tosst with Marmite
@Munish @martinfeld cheese on toast with marmite is probably the only thing I do with marmite. Sometimes I use marmite when cooking a chilli.
@ChrisJWilson When I first looked into eating "brewery waste" as my son calls it, I tried both Marmite & Vegemite, settled on Vegemite mostly because of the texture: Marmite more like honey, Vegemite more like peanut butter. I think a certain amount of tradition and national pride goes into people's choice of one or the other, but as an American I was neutral on that score.
@JMaxB I had no idea about the origins of either until I was at least 18. I could certainly pick up on some differences between the texture from Martin’s photo. I still am yet to try Vegimite but I do have an easier supply of Marmite :)
@ChrisJWilson Yes, the mites do have a noticeable difference in texture! Promite also reminds me somewhat of beef stock in flavour.
Fascinating that you have yours with chilli!
@Munish There’s even a cheesy version of Vegemite in Australia called ‘Cheesybite’! 😂
@martinfeld You should at least get an CBE for your efforts in promoting Vegemite! 😃 (Have yet to try it)
@martinfeld wow. @ChrisJWilson How does the cheese go on toast?cheese melted then marmite on top?
@odd Haha any kind of acknowledgement would be welcomed. I’d happily accept the Australian of the Year award for my service to promoting our favourite yeast spread.
