@markstoneman Thanks, this is awesome. Looks like a ’30s Remington portable. Back then something like this would have cost around $100 and been the equivalent adjusted for inflation of about $1,200, which for a tenant farmer would have been a huge outlay of money. I dug up some advertisements and did calculations for the late 1940s last year. Prized possession indeed.
