@manton I might be missing something but is there a category option when using the Mac app?

@ChrisJWilson Should be available automatically with longer posts and with short posts via: View -> Categories

@simonwoods So it is... it's a shame that is isn't the same as the iOS app, and that there's no keyboard shortcut to display that view. I have to touch my mouse like an animal.

@simonwoods And I don't see the category on longer posts (I'm on 1.9)

@ChrisJWilson @simonwoods I was worried about showing the categories pane too often and potentially distracting people who just want to post something. Any suggestions for a keyboard shortcut? (You can also add your own in Sys Prefs → Keyboard → Shortcuts.)

@manton Has the swipe gesture to follow conversations been deprecated in favour of the pop-up? (I could swipe on mac, couldn’t I? I'm sure I could, but now having doubts as to my memory)

@manton Oh that's interesting. On the web they appear automatically once you've added a title for a long post so I had no idea that on the Mac the View control was needed either way.

@canion Swipe to view conversations has never worked on the Mac. I think I tried it once and it didn't seem smooth or intuitive enough. It's just for swiping back from a conversation.

@manton The icons are great. Thanks so much for the open in browser — I’ve quite often recently wanted to go to a post or the author's site in my browser.

@manton I never knew about this option before 🤦‍♂️Five years on a Mac and I just unlocked a new superpower. I'm going for Shift+Control+C for the moment. Different enough to not accidentally trigger, but C makes sense for category.
