I’ve tried HEY for the past couple of days, and I’m not feeling the WOW factor. On iOS it actually feels half-baked. It doesn’t matter if I’m starting an email, or replying to one, the keyboard doesn’t even show up automatically, I have to press the screen to start typing. Meh.
@Gabz I also wouldn't mind liking it. Still have to learn the keyboard shortcuts, but I'm not getting it as a replacement for my usual client. Am I the only person happy with the way email works ? It works for me. I don't get a ton of it, I have no issues with spam, it's pretty much under control.
@maique right! I am the same way, email it's not a burden for me. I think part of me just want to stop using google all together and this is a nice , new way to do so. I could use fastmail but their app isn't the prettiest lol, I know i can use the stock mail.app but eh!
@TimeAffluent I knew going in I wouldn't stick around, domain would be my number one gripe, and I can't use it without it. And I believe they'll charge a hefty fee for that, I can add as many domains as I wish to my Fastmail account for free. But, even so, I wanted to check what all the fuss was about. And I don't get it.
@maique @Gabz @TimeAffluent I'm in maique's page. I am using my trial but I don't think this is going to be a game changer for me. I use ProtonMail and ProtonVPN and I'm pretty happy. Lately, I subscribed to Fastmail and I'm using my own domains. I will stick with that. I don't want to go crazy and have to deal with such an amount of email addresses.
@TimeAffluent I don't use icloud.com for mail. But I think I will be keen to try Sign in with Apple.
@maique Same! I signed up for the free trial as much as anything to see what the noise is about. For one, I wish that I could change the text size and the amount of info on the screen. At the moment I don't see what I will gain with the effort of the move to Hey? I still have 12ish days left with my trial and will explore Hey further, but right now I doubt that I will sign up.
@crossingthethreshold Still on the same page. No way I’m paying for that at the moment! No money for silly purchases. Heck, I’d rather pay for two years of Micro.blog right now!
@crossingthethreshold I get that feeling a lot! These days it’s “Do you really need your own Mastodon instance?”. I don’t.

@maique I get a pile of email and still not tempted to think hey .... then again , combining good rules and filters over the years helps a lot and then I find spark powerful enough for triage.
@JohnPhilpin Get it. That’s where I’m at: I have email under control, Spark works wonderfully, I don’t feel the need to have my email fixed, its not broken in the first place!
