📢 PSA: As usual, I’ll post to Instagram quicker, more often, and a lot more photos (and videos) than will show up on the blog, and other social media.

You are, of course, entitled to being an Instagram hater, and I get it.

But that’s how things are. Our families, and IRL friends are all users.

@maique That's just how it is. Crosspost FTW always!

Yup. I haven't felt the need to resign up for FB but, living abroad, joining Instagram makes sense.

@maique Can I interest you in auto-cross posting from Instagram to your Micro.blog (which presumably cross posts elsewhere)? 😉

@jarrod Hey! Thanks, but no thanks 🙂

The way I use Instagram is basically through Stories. I post to the feed very rarely. And, most photos in my Stories do end up over here. Not all, but most. The ones that don’t are mostly photos from tinyMovieStar, that I’m sharing with “Close Friends” (that includes a lot of folks from M.b). I don’t post those “publicly” that often.

For instance, I did not share a single photo on my feed since we got to the islands, a week or so ago. And I’ve posted dozens of them on M.b so far. If I was just crossposting, the result would be the same: you’d see no photos coming in from Instagram.

Hope this makes sense.

In the end, M.b gets the full size photos, that get shared to the rest of the networks. Users here get the better deal as it is, I believe. If you’d like to see the “private”, family ones, you do have to go to Instagram, sorry. Same for the not-so-good-ones, the ones I post knowing they’ll be gone in 24 hours.
