@maique I’m not rich, but I got my Italian passport a few years ago. It took me many years of hard work, and yes, money. But I know my journey was easier than others because I applied through my grandparents. I started in 2013 and I finally was recognized on Election Day 2020. I did it for my kids.

@maique Yeah. The first 4 years were spent collecting legal documents, historic records, apostilles, translations, forms, etc.

Once I had a complete citizenship application (a 4-inch thick binder), I spent 4 months trying to get an appointment through their online system because they only release 2 per day and people compete for them at midnight Rome time every night when they’re released.

Once you’re successful at getting an appointment, it’s always for a date 2 years out. Mine was at the Italian Consulate in San Francisco, I hear it’s 5 years in Los Angeles.

Then it took 7 months for my request to be approved and another 6 month wait for a passport appointment.

@maique It's amazing how rich Americans want to flee America but also hate immigrants who are lining up to come to America.
