@maique Interesting that I have just got back using VSCO as well, even renewed my sub 😅 nut it's true, their filters are the best out there
@maique I would still posit VSCO’s black and white Fuji filters are the best in the editing app business. And as someone who loves B&W photography…
@pimoore They are great, even for someone who’s not a huge fan of black and white 😂 They have really cool ones for color as well.
@maique I love VSCO's filters. They do such a good job with edits that aren't so heavy handed that I regret them later. (Unlike Insta, Hipsta, and all the other "sta" apps) I'm still on there too, and I love the photos people post there, but I find it a lonely place. After discovering the community here on Micro.blog, I don't know if I could go back to VSCO's private solitude.
@Gaby Got it. I had found an older one 🙂
@gregmoore Yes, and I guess so 🙂 Lovely filters, good photos, but not a lot of community so far.
@maique I use VSCO for many years too. Some of my favorite images use their filters. I remember using VSCO film back in the days, but very lightly as it was pretty expensive to me.
@pcora I'm really enjoying this trip back in time. Great thing about those packs is that, even though they've been discontinued for many years, I can still get to the installer!
@maique VSCO just tries so much to be a social network and makes exporting images too difficult for me, that's why I ultimately switched to Darkroom on iOS.
@maique VSCO will owe you royalties for how many microbloggers resub to them. I’m downloading the app this morning and we’ll see how it goes. But I suspect I won’t be far behind everyone else on giving them another go.
@maique back when I was a starving grad student who couldn’t even justify the microblog $5/mo, I had a great workflow of editing between three apps. Exposure, dodge/burn and such in one, filters in VSCO, border and final exports in a third. That is to say I love the free version. But now that I’m gainfully employed, it wouldn’t be the worst thing if I subscribed.
@lukemperez Been there, at the multiple-app workflow 😅 And it is not the worst, no, you're right.
@yurymol I actually don't find it that hard. Edit the photo, tap next, save. It's not on the same level as Darkroom, sure, but not a huge hassle.
