Regarding the Ultra and tattoos, I’m finding this works much nicer than older models, despite everything. Locks a LOT less than my previous watch.

@maique Your old watch locked from tattoos?

@pimoore ALL the time. It’s a known issue, Apple even talks about it on the documentation. I had to turn wrist detection off, a miss out on a few features.

@maique That’s crazy. I’m glad your Ultra seems to be more resilient to this issue.

@pimoore Maybe the bigger size, or different placement of the sensors “fixed” it a little. Glad it’s better than the older one, that I’m sure of.

@maique Does that mean someone could steal your watch and be authenticated?

@odd If you turn off the password a few of the features that require authentication are disabled.

@maique Ok. I was afraid Apple Pay would work even if you didn’t have the watch anymore.

@odd No, no. As soon as you say you want to turn the password off, you get a warning that tells you the cards will be removed from the watch.

@maique Ah, looks like they did think this through! Not that it’s out of character, but reassuring still.
