Tried DeepL to help speed up a translation job, and I’m glad I did. The Mac app is lovely, a shortcut will paste the text from any app into it, and activate the translation.

I love an app that saves time.

@ohBananaJoe It is great, yes. The game changer, for me, was finding the app was as cool as the translation.

@maique Didn't realise they had a Mac app, but that's Pro only right? What's the amount of use you have for it / which use cases? I'm wondering when forking over E72 for a year would be reasonable for my usage / use cases. Are you on a Pro package?

@ton oh, wait, I can skip the pro login and still use the app. Neat. Still interested in your use cases though!

@ton I use it often, mostly to help my wife with boring translation things. Not on the Pro tier, as I have no use for the added features, and the app works on the free tier.

@maique thanks. I think I might use this to blog more in German. I'm fluent in German but writing it I start to doubt grammatical cases, and then acting on those doubts usually creates errors. I just tried it with some text, and then I can quite quickly correct/edit the proposed machine translation.

@ton That's exactly what I'm doing. Saving some time on longer paragraphs, I'll just go over the translation and edit a little.
