What kind of situations are people finding themselves in that they need to carry a flashlight each and every day?? Are that many people really cat burglars or private eyes?

@rosscatrow When I lived in NYC, there was a spate of blackouts on the subway. This scared me into always having a light of some sort. Those were pre-smartphone days and the folks with lights were heroes.

@rosscatrow Not anymore, but I used to carry a flashlight in the camera bag. At the time there were no cellphones with that feature, and I spent a good deal of time in shooting in very low light. Sometimes I’d need to find something in the back, quicker than feeling by hand would allow. It’s been years since I’ve done that.

@maique I carry a small flashlight in my briefcase and another in my car. They are more powerful than my smartphone and in a pinch can have light without running down my smartphone battery. But I feel certain I’m in the minority. I also like flashlights.
