@timapple I’ve been using both of these for a while. Took a look at Bitwarden and, although nice, felt a bit clunky compared to 1P.
@simonwoods Feature wise I love Fastmail. Does everything I want/need, and they keep adding these nice touches. Also great when using our own domain(s), it’s really easy to set those up, and I never worry if I need another alias, or email. Everything is included in my account. Their app is nice enough, or I can use whatever app I feel like.
@ohBananaJoe You can always try that 😊 Maybe they’ll implement something like this. I have my doubts, but who knows?
@Gaby For me it's the opposite: tried a few since I started using them, and could never move away. As far as I see it they have everything I need, a very solid foundation, and it allows me to play around with different clients when I want to. Or just use their app. Not bad.
@timapple Tried the same on Substack and wouldn’t work when I tried to sign up for a particular newsletter, but did when I tried to sign up for an account there…
@maique I did use them in the past and remember all of that being true. Then of course there's also Apple with their shiny new mail features... Protonmail really is struggling, at least in the world of Apple.
@simonwoods Somehow I never got used to Apple for mail, even though I still have one of the @mac.com addresses, from WAY back in the day. Proton seems nice enough, if you need that kind of service. The fact that you can't use 3rd party apps, the whole Bridge thing, is a turn off for me. With Fastmail I can still use GPG, or whatever, and it's been great using all the features. Got a new domain? Configure it and I'm done. No added cost, it just works.
@maique fastmail has been at the top of my list for getting off Gmail but I’ve yet to pull the trigger. This makes it all the transaction cost of switching my email for the first time in nearly 20 years all the more incising.
