@mandaris Haha, my partner had this problem with his nephew when said nephew was nine months old. He'd been visiting all the time so the baby loved and trusted him so much, but once he shaved his head, the baby believed he was a total stranger and he had to build their relationship right back up from scratch…

@ohBananaJoe This is my mother, she vocally tells me her displeasure with my beard and that I need to shave. Don’t get me wrong I love my mom, but, thankfully, my grooming is not up to her.

Imagine her response when I shaved down to just a moustache…

@pimoore my mother stopped talking to me about stuff like that when I explained to her that there is a reason for me never having lived closer than a 2.5 hour car trip from her 😂

@hjertnes @pimoore @maique I had an aunt who used to say anyone who had a beard had something to hide. I held that subconsciously for years. Finally, about the time I decided to take growing a beard seriously, I stated I’d grow one for as long as the Tampa Bay Lightning’s playoff run lasted (playoff beards are a tradition). They ended up going all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals that year. By that point, I’d come so far I couldn’t see myself without it, so it’s here to stay now.
