On the homestead blog: today’s the day! Today I opened the pop door of the duck house. But it didn’t go quite as expected. 🦆 

@dejus I missed this yesterday because of involvement with Hurricane Douglas here in Hawaii. Apart from Berts “hop inside,” and all the bees drinking (I have never seen that before), it seems as though I didn’t miss any big changes

@dejus Ha, Ha! I like the way that you “encouraged” them out. They look as though they are having fun, lots of washing. Amazing to see where they have come from, arriving in a box. And now Bert has companions - yeh!

@crossingthethreshold Yeah, it's impressive how quickly they grow in just seven weeks, from tiny fluff balls to nearly full-sized ducks. That was the most swimming they've ever done; they're currently sleeping back in their run.
