@danielpunkass Indieweb kids are saying that RSS isn't cool any more! What do I do?

@danielpunkass @macbirdie Or maybe point out to them that podcasts are hosted over… RSS.

@macbirdie @danielpunkass all the IndieWeb people I know (myself included) are huge fans of RSS! There are other feed formats that are more "modern" too, but RSS works just fine thank you very much :)

@macbirdie RSS works just fine for blogging and podcasts! It's just that it doesn't support the more modern stuff like replies, photos/videos, checkins, etc, so we've moved on to alternate solutions for those!

@cleverdevil @macbirdie @danielpunkass I personally prefer JSONFeed as a format, but there is no escaping or denying the ubiquity of RSS. I hope JSONFeed gains more traction eventually, but RSS is the standard at the moment.

@aaronpk Just kidding, kind of! ;) I make a "classical" RSS Reader app and have been getting into Indieweb stuff recently to see how I can enable interactions with the followed feeds, was a little confused by the "RSS is legacy" message. Good to know it's still cool after all!
