Side question: What is the best chess site? I haven’t played chess in years. I used to be good enough to play and win blindfolded, but those days are long gone.

@Archimage lichess. Except for maybe a few niche use cases (and those folks already know), my sense is it’s not even close.
@lukemperez Thank you. I’m aware of lichess. I guess I wasn’t specific enough. I’m not looking for a chess playing site. I’m more interested in news/info/etc, something more on the order of chess.com or chess24.com
@Archimage such a site does not exist, at least not in English. I read the chess sites but most of them are mediocre in terms of that content. My best guess is bc most of the creative talent is going to streaming and youtube, and much more intensely since the pandemic.
