@JohnPhilpin currently I am looking at Vaultwarden which might have the feature set I need.

@JohnPhilpin Bitwarden offers a hosted solution and that is cheaper than 1Password. Vaultwarden offers the features I probably need for free

@nielsk @alanralph For fuck sakes, I just switched back to 1PW recently… 🙄 I will not on principle support any company that stands on the side of crypto and Web3, regardless how much I like their product.

@nielsk Been reading all things Ukraine the past few days so I'm behind on this news. Is there something in the announcement that suggests 1P is doing more than just providing a way for cyptro-users to store data? Or is it something more explicit?

@JohnPhilpin We use keepass stored on a self hosted nextcloud instance and syncing to iPhone with strongbox. Works pretty well for two people.

@modomiro I already had a better look at it and I don’t really like it and look at alternatives

@lukemperez I read the blog post because I'm a long-time 1P subscriber (but don't read their blog normally) and a fairly extreme crypto-skeptic (can you say "tulip bulbs?"). It looks to me as if they're just providing a way for cyptro-users to store data.

@ReaderJohn Oh, so less dramatic than some of the first reactions are. I’ve not been happy with some 1P’s moves recently, but so for (for me anyway), nothing to suggest I need to start looking elsewhere (yet).
