We ended up having dinner with some hardcore Halloween fans! Glad the movieStars were feeling better, but still not a Halloween fan 🎃

@maique sometime in my teenage years I lost all internet in all things Halloween. I can even remember when, just not what year (‘93?). I’ve since been coming back around as my kids have gotten older and their interest in the in the adventure of it grows, I’m slowing coming around again. Not a lot, to be sure. But a little, and a little more each year.

@lukemperez For me it makes little sense, since we didn’t have Halloween growing up. I can’t even tell you when we started celebrating the date, but it’s a relatively new thing. We have the holiday, of course, but closer to Dia de los Muertos, than Halloween. It’s the day when you visit the ones that have left us already, a LOT of people make their way to the cemetery.

@maique Makes sense. Latin cultures in the US celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. (I’m Mexican but 4th gen US born: we’ve lost the Spanish la gauge and some but not all the Latin culture.) whereas Halloween is really an Anglo-American origin that doesn’t really pick up globally until the 90s.
