@Gaby I’m pretending I didn’t see this. Too many things on my list I haven’t watched yet. Is it good? Please tell me it’s not! Thanks
@Gaby I was expecting a bit more introduction on the first episode. It just kinda… started. Liking it so far tho.
@mcg @Gaby I like that they didn't go into a big introduction. I remember that from the books and it was dull as dish water.
@Gaby @issimonwoods @Omrrc @purisubzi @mcg I’m not sure if I want to watch this…I read the books as they came out, when I was young; I’d hate to ruin the memory. 🙄
@lostinhaste I'm probably helped by the fact that I fell out with the books, though I also generally don't think that a TV adaptation should be a complete and accurate recreation of the source material.
@issimonwoods it's a personal preference but which ever medium I experience first is the one that I prefer. I read the Harry Potter books first, so I didn't enjoy the movies all that much...but I saw Star Wars first, so I prefer the movies.
@lostinhaste I think a lot of people work that way. My reactions tend to depend on the particular interpretation of the story, although with that viewpoint I have been influenced by exposure to fandoms.
