It takes me longer to come up with half-baked tools for writing Jira tickets than to just write the Jira tickets. I still think of making them though. Because I just can’t stand writing Jira tickets in Jira.

@lmika What types of tools are you imagining? A desktop app for Jira?

@V_ Actually, one that I've been wishing I had was something that'll take an OPML or Bike outline, and create a Jira epic from it, complete with tasks and subtasks. I've come close to building it, but I never finished it. Which is silly because I've made other silly throwaway scripts that made tickets automatically

(okay, now that I write this, it might be that I'm just procrastinating).

@lmika oh, coding as procrastinating – I know that one as well :-) I must say I find the modern (hosted) version Jira quite good.

And I love all the shortcuts it has. One downside is that I'm triggered when I watch a PM doing everything with the mouse in a meeting.

@V_ Yeah, I do believe the (hosted) version of Jira we're using is a little old. I was planning a few more comments about Jira's editor yesterday, but stopped myself as I wasn't sure if they were actually fixed in later versions.
