I got nosteligic for O’Reilly Books Online a few minutes ago. No novels there, just tech books. But wow, was it a great service. Large range of titles, decent prices, usually a sale going on, and no DRM. Shame that they shut it down. #mbnov

@lmika Oh, really? I didn’t know that they shut down. (Haven’t bought a tech book in 4 years or so). Since you got nostalgic, there’s always O RLY.

@odd This was a good 5 years ago, so I’m not sure what the status is now; but, yeah, they made it clear that it was no longer possible to buy books through the site anymore. I think they were trying to get people to use Safari which, in my opinion, was not a great reading experience, and was really expensive.

@lmika I saw now that you wrote “Online”, I assumed they had stopped selling books altogether.
