Dealing with tables in Obsidian reminds me that as much as I think I like working with tables in markdown, the truth is that I really don’t. Wonder if it would be easier with that alternative markdown table format that the Linux community uses. One where rows are laid out over multiple... lmika.org

@lmika It definitely can be a hassle. I've been using the Advanced Tables plugin and linter to make sure that everything is pretty.

That being said, I haven't created any new tables in obsidian just edit the notes from imports from other applications.

@lmika @mandaris I use the advanced tables plugin too, but mostly I keep my tables to a minimum in Markdown. They always feel a bit hacky even when I do them right.

@Cheri @mandaris I did try the Advanced Tables plugin briefly. I may give it another go as I get the sense that I didn't give it a fair shake. But I think the idea of keeping tables to a minimum is a good one. Would be hard to wean off them though: I tend to use them a lot when I'm working on wiki documents at work.
