I’ve turned off analytics for this site. It’s been more than a hinderance than anything else. It got to the point where I actually stopped visiting my own site just to keep my visits from showing up the data. How crazy!

@lmika Coincidentally, I turned off analytics on my site as well today. It was coming up for renewal and I hadn't checked the stats in probably ten months, so I didn't think it was worth the cost for me!

@jayeless I glad that you saw no need for those stats. I wish I was like that. I was constantly looking at them, and for no good reason other than to feed my ego. It wasn't healthy. Better that money goes somewhere else.

@lmika ha! I just did the same mainly because it bothered me that my visits count and it was not easy to exclude them. I spent a long time without analytics before and I am sure I won’t miss them.

@lmika I find it better when I have no stats to look at. It's an unnecessary distraction for me.

@pcora Yeah, the whole not-visiting-your-own-site was a big reason why I stopped. Seems pretty strange not spending time on it myself, especially for a blog like this: something I do for fun more than anything else.
