@lmika I know what you mean about how it feels like nothing is happening… the other day I called my dad to catch up, but we had so little to talk about other than just the news! 😩 That rarely happens. As far as music goes, I've come to like instrumental soundtracks for times like that. Another example would be for reading – if I try listening to music with lyrics while reading, I'm in for a tough time…
@jayeless Yeah, I think if it's music that I regularly listen to (which is mainly instrumental), it's difficult to focus as I find myself just listening to the music. I've had some success with writing prose while listening to musicforprogramming.net, which is so abstract it borders on just background noise.
@lmika I like your posts. It’s not always that I find something that I find worthwhile to post about, but do it anyway. (Nonsense, mostly😜). But I see you write:
Apart from work, TV, reading, and doing a few personal projects on the side, there really isn’t much going on.
Well, that’s a lot right there to blog about! I’m not saying you should feel pressured to share everything though. You write what you feel like. But if I’d been getting that much done, I’d been blogging even more, (if I had the energy left that is).
@odd Thanks for that. And yeah, I think your approach to blogging is the right one, and I think one that I need to internalise a bit more. I guess that's one good thing about Micro.blog vs. other social media services, in that there's no real pressure to play up your public persona. You're free to be your more genuine self here, which I really do appreciate.
