It’s 7 PM on the east coast of the US and I’m watching West Indies and New Zealand play Test cricket eight thousand miles away. Bright sunshine, green grass, crowds in the stands, and no masks. Feels like a fantasy world. 🏏

@lmika There’s a crazy quilt of coverage here, I think because the US is home to so many diaspora populations. New Zealand matches are, inexplicably, the easiest of all to find. I discovered the sport in 2005 via BBC radio of the Ashes (sorry, that may still sting for you!)

@joshuabeatty Yeah, I’m not really a cricket fan myself, but I do vaguely remember my compatriots being a bit disappointed with the outcome of that series 😀
