@liana I love my Jetstream RTs. I use them pretty much exclusively now. Welcome to the club!
@josephhinkle Thank you. I’ve just begun practicing my cursive after printing for so many years. I’m finding paper feel is something I didn’t realize I care about. Any experience and/or thoughts?
@liana I’m of the fountain pen generation, both cartridge and inkwell. Perhaps you’d like to give that a try for the experience.
@apoorplayer Thank you for the suggestion. I have considered trying a fountain pen. Do you have a favorite? There are so many options. I’ve previously looked to YouTube for ideas, but I’ve consciously reduced my watch time greatly. Rabbit holes go too deep.
@liana The go-to was Schaefer. I am no longer sure who makes fountain pens anymore. The least messy style would be a Schaefer cartridge pen. You inserted a small cartridge of ink into the body of the pen and screwed it back together. That would pierce a small hole at the bottom of the cartridge, which would allow the ink to flow into the paper. Prepare for the possibility of leaks. The “badge of shame” was the blue stain flowing on your white shirt from your shirt pocket.
@liana I prefer a more toothy paper because I don’t like my pen to glide too easily because I’m sloppy. I also strongly prefer ring bound. I tried a bunch of different notebooks and settled on the Maruman Mnemosyne. It’s a deep rabbit hole of paper types, form factors, and price points for sure.
@josephhinkle I know Maruman Mnemosyne paper. It does have side texture. I’m trying a Mee-plus loose leaf notebook at the moment.
@liana Nice! I often write in tight spaces or need to get my writing surface closer to my keyboard. I tried notebooks, book-bound, and disk bound before I ended up just going back to spiral bound. It is such a personal thing.
@apoorplayer Well, we got 5” overnight and now we’ve got sleet, freezing rain, and wind gust of 50+. I got out and did the driveway around 10 am, and will stay put today and tomorrow. The main concern for us is losing electricity, otherwise we’re managing fine. So nothing compared to Dunkirk.
