@kirschen I downloaded that a couple of weeks ago. Even though I also got the region pack I’m not sure it’s really quite up to NZ birds. Haven’t given it a very good test yet though. My hardest thing is hearing but not seeing a bird and figuring out what it might be.

@Miraz I don’t do much drawing, but, like photography, it makes me pay attention to the details more. I find that field marks don’t make it into long term memory without some serious mental engagement.

@Miraz I see that Merlin supports sound ID for US and Canada. Hope coverage expands worldwide. I often hear owls in the neighbourhood and have used their sound recordings to figure out which one it was. Think it’s the Barred Owl by its “who cooks for you” call.
