Out of curiosity, when you're using your VPN service, do you use their mobile and desktop apps or do you use OpenVPN?

@jmreekes thanks for replying!
@kimonostereo I ask because I was reading The Wirecutter's review of VPN services and they warn against using native apps.
@matigo yeah I totally hear you! Trying to get up to speed on VPN stuff since many have been asking me. I don’t wanna set up VPN for them ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ
@matigo oh yeah! Sorry for the confusion! I’m not going to do that but just want to be knowledgeable about it. I meant I’m not going to tell folks to set up their own VPN because I don’t want to help them do it!
@kimonostereo I use the apps in my case, since Encrypt.me automates things through their apps.
@sku\_b Thanks! I wonder if The Wirecutter is wrong about certain apps being less secure than OpenVPN?
@kimonostereo Not sure honestly. But, Eero offers Encrypt.me as part of a yearly subscription of add ones, so I would think it’s a fairly secure option.
@matigo @kimonostereo I can recommend looking in to Airvpn. Very privacy focused and provides super fast connections (and loads of settings/configuration options if that’s your thing, but you can also skip it and use their -not super polished, but solid- app)
